Love your mom's drawings, as always, and your word smithing. The French Toast looks yummy! The Italian Cookies cookbook caught my eye; I just submitted a request to the Austin Public Library to purchase it. Thanks for the intro! P.S. I found your mom's description of you so mom-ish, "The Kid is sovereign over a kitchen of her own."
