Amie, I agree with both Elizabeths--your writing is stupendous, as is your mother's. Both of you are storytellers, word painters, verbal sketch artists whose material always ties to heart and memory. Keep putting one foot in front of the other on the trail and in life; we'll be watching--and cheering you on!
Another great installment of Cook & Tell, Amie (and thank you for the mention 😊). I will continue to sing its praises.
And what a wonderful accomplishment and great memory to look back on! I am in no way a runner, but I will gladly try that peanut butter bread--sounds delicious!
Wow, what a fantastic accomplishment! And such a cool memory to have, too. My spouse is running his first half later this month, and I'm so pleased for him. Like your mother, I don't really "get" running, but I am very happy to be the spectator who brings snacks :)
You, my friend, are totally amazing. Congratulations, on it all, and thanks for sharing your Mom's wonderful stories along with yours. That photo of you brought tears to my eyes, literally. So proud of you. xx
What a fantastic recounting of the running of Boston! I've been to many of them with my sibs and kids, cheering on my brother who always looked for us in the same place, year after year. My fav part of the Boston: hearing and the seeing the helicopter hovering over the lead man and the lead woman runners, and then watching the helicopter come closer, and hearing the cheers for the leaders, and seeing them running round the corner toward the finish line. Hooray for you for running the Holy Grail, Amie!!! What wonderful memories for all involved. P.S. Do you still marathon?
There’s nothing like the crowd and support at Boston, right? It’s been a couple years since my last marathon, and most are on trails now…much easier on the old joints!

Thanks, Ruth! Your storytelling skills rank right up there!
Thanks, Amie!

That’s the perfect way to support a runner in the family! Hope his race goes well.
Amazing! 🏃♀️

It was so long ago, but still the memories are fresh…
Great job A. Norton was very impressed that you had run so many miles and the Boston Marathon and all the other events. Actually, I am too!!💝🥰
What an incredible accomplishment and so wonderful to have your mom's funny and touching account of the day!
Seeing her there with the sign at the finish line is such a powerful memory. I’ve still got that silver star ⭐️

The Boston crowd is the best!! And yes, old joints definitely make themselves known!
