Love that you’ve filled your Mother’s shoes, but I’m still, and always will, miss the hard copy arriving by snail mail, relaxing in my comfy chair, holding it in my hands, and loving every moment of devouring it with my feet up and a hot cup of coffee by my side.
It would be wonderful if you could make prints, available for sale, of this wintry picture your mother painted years ago. I’m looking at a place on my livingroom wall waiting for such a treasure. Is it possible?? Have an epic holiday season. Your post made my day.
I know exactly what you mean about the paper copies of the newsletters! I have an entire room full of the old Cook & Tells, and when I go through those archives as I do when planning future issues--touching the crinkled paper, flipping through the pages--I travel back to the simpler time before internet and email and apps and social media overtook our lives.
So many of Karyl's illustrations could be made into prints. I'll give your idea some thought and let you know later next year.
Your love for your mom shines through every beautiful word you share from her past newsletters and in your own endnotes and recipes. The smell of that unusual apple butter (OMG, tomatoes?!!) just wafts off the page--er--screen. I will have to try it. Thanks for all of it, Amie. So happy to discover Cook & Tell--and you! ❤️
Beautiful ending to this post Amie. I feel like I know your mom each week more and more. I'm so happy I get to read her words and yours each week. Plus...try and share the recipes. Thank you Amie and sending you long distance hugs.

I agree with you … mothers are always right!
Beautiful end note. Love the color winter illustration.
“She never really left.” Lovely, Amie! ✨
