Vanilla ice cream really does fix everything... Oh, and I've never heard of coca-cola in a cake. There you go!

Wow, I've heard of (and made) a Coca-Cola brisket but never a cake. This one goes on the must-make list! The Seven-Up cake might be another. A great read as usual, Amy!

And I’ve never heard of a Coca-Cola brisket, so there!

You had me at drug-free cake because of course I was wondering about the alternative. And now I know!

I've never been much of a soda-drinking fan, but I would definitely consume 7-Up in cake form. The crumb looks SO good. P.S. I'm really enjoying Secret Recipes. The microstories really grab the reader!

I’m so happy to hear you’re enjoying the book! (And the cake really is a joy, so moist!)

That 7-Up bundt cake looks mouthwatering (as does the rest of the food in this post!)

“…vanilla ice cream fixes everything.” Yes, it does!

Not that your pies would ever need fixing, Kate, but there’s nothing finer than a scoop of vanilla on a pie!

The Coke in the recipe would be a fun ingredient to surprise guests with. I had never heard of using it in chocolate cake. Thanks, Amie.

Oh Amie, such a mouthwatering post! I used to make chocolate Coca-Cola cake for family birthdays, and it was very popular - it was always reliably moist, and really chocolatey.

And scallops - oh wow! They're my absolute favourite thing in the world. I first came across scallops on the west coast of Scotland in the early 2000s, having never had them before - oh my goodness! Eating hand-dived Hebridean scallops overlooking the harbour of the island where we were staying is a memory which will always stay with me AND my taste buds. Lots of memories, actually, because yes, I ordered them waaaaay more than just the once! If I ever go out to eat and scallops are on the menu, well, chances are I'll order them.... 🤫

I’ll have to jet over to Scotland sometime and see how those scallops stack up to the New England ones!

I hope they’re just as good! New England seafood all sounds incredible, though! 🦐🦀🦞
